LONGING TO LOVE      

  The heart longs to love, but through the walls no one can break. The walls hold my heart steady as it beats with pain. Around the walls are locks and chains. The chains hold the wall that holds the heart, longing for loves embrace.

        The locks hold the chains where behind the wall the heart beats. I go through the pain. One day there will be a key to unlock the chains. Strong hands will rip the chains away from my heat.         This love is one who all his life did not say a word. To the one he hoped would one day be his to wed. He remembers the times they had. Holding hands and talking. All the times they had as friends. All those times looking at from the corner of his eye.

        Now to find they have grown old as friends do. On the day of her death his heart is torn apart. He mourns her as if they had spent an eternity together. Soon he feels warmth about him. As I sit here by the river and I look in your eyes. I see them painted like the desert skies. They run on forever. Your smile takes me to the very height beyond how high and eagle my fly. Life with you is kind and sweet. You are the reason that I go on. You’re the inspiration from morning till the next dawn.

Unbridled spirit

        As my mind seems to drift away, I see myself standing in a clearing on top of a hill. As I look down at the grassy meadow. I see a herd of wild stallions and mares. The colts play what seems to be a game of tag. I smile as I feel myself let go. I can feel myself running free. As do the unbridled spirits around me.
